Eyeko Cosmic Polish – Review
Today I’d like to introduce you to Eyeko’s Comic Polish: For Space Age Nails! Eyeko is a boutique beauty line from London that was created in 2000. I had never heard of them until I started reading nail blogs. I was intrigued by the unique packaging and the interesting variety of colors they had to offer, every polish seems to have its own theme and story behind it. I’d really like to get my hands on each of Eyeko’s polishes to try them all out.
Cosmic Polish: For Space Age Nails
Cosmic is a black creme based polish filled with rainbow holographic glitter. It is fairly well pigmented and was opaque after 2 coats. I used Essie Fill the Gap as my base coat this time instead of CND Sticky. The brush is a little stiff so you should use a light touch to avoid creating bare spots. It dried with a bit of a grainy texture so I would suggest using a top coat with this. I used SV (seche vite) but I think that any top coat would work fine for this.
You can really see the holo glitter in this shot. It looks like I have a twinkling rainbow sky across my nails! (insert double rainbow joke)
I really like this polish. I’m a fan of black polish and the fact that this has the holo microglitter makes it that much more exciting! The funny thing with this one is that the microglitter is more visible in artificial light than it is in natural lighting. The bottle shape is also a bit awkward to deal with since it is so tall and thin. I can foresee someone tipping their polish over quite easily if they aren’t careful during application.
You can buy the limited edition Cosmic Polish for $6.00 from the Eyeko website.
Shipping is free in the UK & Europe, and $7.50 for International orders (Int’l orders over $55 will have free shipping).
