Elle's Spell & Falling Star
Allo!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.  I’m currently in the middle of a 7 day in a row stretch at work so coffee and I are going to be BFFs until Wednesday night. ;-) Today I’m happy to show you a brand that is new to me, Shades by Barielle. They’re currently running a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale so I decided to finally take the plunge and try out a few colors. I ended up picking Falling Star and Elle’s Spell.

I used Seche Vite/CND Sticky for my top/base coat combo on both swatches.

Elle’s Spell
Elle's Spell

Elle’s Spell is a gorgeous burgundy red jelly filled with multi-colored foil flakies. I used 4 coats to get full coverage. I think this polish would be good for layering as well, I probably would have been able to get away with 2 coats if I had used a red colored base polish.

Here’s a close-up because I like macro shots. :-D

Falling Star
Falling Star

Falling Star is a lovely periwinkle/medium blue creme filled with copper glitter. I’ve never seen another shade like it! This was part of the All Lacquered Up Collection from 2009. Michelle, a fellow nail blogger, had the opportunity to partner up with Elle from Barielle and they created 12 amazing shades! You can view great swatches of all the polishes in this collection on Scrangie’s blog.

Falling Star

Another close-up, you know the drill. Falling Star was a little on the thick side, so I did have to add a bit of thinner to make it more manageable. This was 2 coats.

Final Thoughts:

I’m very happy with my first two purchases from Barielle. I think that Falling Star is a must for polish fanatics, it’s such a unique color and I definitely haven’t seen anything else like it before.

Purchase Info:

Shades by Barielle can be purchased on their website for $8.00/each. They’re currently running a Buy One, Get One 50% Off sale so stock up people!
