Glitter Gal: 3D Holographic Black Swatches & Review
Firstly I would like to thank my lovely boyfriend for letting me take over his laptop so I could post today. Hopefully I will have mine back up and running as soon as I finish arguing with ASUS customer service. I haven’t even had the thing for a year and the power cord is already busted.
Annnnnyway, today I’ve got an amazing polish from an Australian company to show you all today. This one is 3D Holographic Black by Glitter Gal, and I’ll warn you now that this post is picture heavy because I’m in love.
All swatches are done with Seche Vite top coat and Sally Hansen Nail Quencher base coat. Clicking the photos below will bring you to my Flickr account where you can view larger images.
3D Holographic Black
3D Holographic Black is a highly pigmented black polish with a linear prismatic effect. The bottles are quite tiny (9ml/0.3 fl oz) but you really don’t need much polish to get the job done. I reached full opacity with just one coat! I did apply a second coat for this mani to see if it made a difference but it really wasn’t necessary.
The application on this one was fantastic. Although the bottle is small it comes with a full-sized brush that is soft and it glides across the nail with ease, the polish went wherever I wanted it to go.
I wish the sun had been out when I did this mani because if this is how the polish looks under camera flash I’m sure it’s a stunner in natural sunlight! I’ll try to snap some pictures in the sun later today and add them to the post if I can.
The holographic effect is less dramatic indoors and in low lighting, but unlike other linear holos it does not disappear entirely. 3D Holographic Black takes on more of a subdued/almost scattered holo effect in low lighting, similar to the pictures shown above.
Here’s a close-up to show you the prismatic effect. Isn’t it just gorgeous?! I’m really hoping the sun comes out today so I can show you some outdoor photos as well.
I am absolutely smitten with 3D Holographic Black! I’ve been wanting a black linear holographic polish for ages and the fact that I have finally found a nice strong one has me on cloud nine. I’m also quite happy with the availability of this one since Glitter Gal has a stockist in the US. I didn’t feel like I had to give up my first-born [cat] to have this in my hot little hands.
Glitter Gal polishes can be purchased on their official website and various internet stockists (list provided on their site). I purchased 3D Holographic Black via their US stockist, llarowe. She has been absolutely WONDERFUL to do business with and she kept me fully updated on my items before, during, and after they shipped. I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Glitter Gal polishes retail for $14.99 per 0.3 fl oz/9ml bottle of polish.
