Joining The Cult (Part 2)
Today I’ve got the last two polishes from my first Cult Nails order. If you missed part one, you can view it by clicking here. The two featured today are from Maria’s A Day At The Races Collection: Captivated and Let Me Fly. I’m thrilled that I get to show these to you all because right after I bought these two during the sale they completely sold out before the day was over!
Each swatch is done with Essie Fill The Gap as my base coat and Seche Vite as my top coat.
Captivated is a coral jelly that is filled to the brim with gold and coral colored glitter. The formula on this one was the thickest of all five that I swatched. However it was not unmanageable. This is three coats.
You can still see a small amount of VNL (visible nail line), but I believe this was meant to be a layering polish. This one needed thick top coat.
Let Me Fly
Let Me Fly is a dusty teal with silver glitter throughout. This one had a very smooth formula, not too thin and not too thick, and it was highly pigmented. I could have stopped at one coat but I did two for consistency.
This polish dries incredibly glossy, I only put top coat on every other nail. Can you tell which ones have top coat and which ones do not? 😉
I found the glitter in this one to be similar to the glitter found in My Kind of Cool Aid. Very fine silver particles creating a delicate shimmer. Let Me Fly is definitely one of my favorite blues now. 😀
Overall I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the polishes I have tried from Cult Nails, Let Me Fly and Captivated are right at home in my collection. The pigmentation and the unique colors that Maria consistently releases are refreshing. Her upcoming fall collection is looking amazing so you better believe I’ll be snatching those up when they become available. 😀
Unfortunately Captivated and Let Me Fly are both sold out. Captivated was a limited edition color so sadly it is no longer available. I do believe that Maria is planning to bring back Let Me Fly some time in the future. You can purchase all other available lacquers at the Cult Nails website, with each polish retailing at $10/bottle.
