Milani Holos: Part 2
Morning!
My lovely friend Dana was nice enough to track down and send me the remaining four 3D Holographic Collection Milani polishes that I did not own. You can see my review of Hi-Res and Hi-Tech here. For these swatches I used Essie Fill The Gap as my base coat and I did not use a top coat. Let’s get right down to it shall we?
3D
3D is a gold scattered holographic polish. The holo effect in this one was the weakest of all six polishes. This is two coats, but I probably could have done three to completely get rid of VNL (visible nail line).
You can see the holographic effect in this picture, but in real life it’s not quite as obvious.
Under most situations 3D looks like the picture above. Still quite pretty, but not a very strong holo.
Cyberspace
I really like Cyberspace. This cornflower blue scattered holo looks elegant on the nail. This one required three coats.
Cyberspace dries to a nice glossy finish, you can see that even without top coat this one is quite shiny. ![]()
A view from another angle to better show off the scattered prismatic effect.
Digital
Digital is another great color, this time a nice mauve. This is three coats, I think this one had the best pigmentation out of the six.
I think the prismatic effect was quite strong in this one. Even in low light it looked as if my nails had an inner glow to them.
HD
HD might be my 2nd favorite of the 3D Holographic polishes, right behind Hi-Tech. Under low light this looks like a high shine silver glitter.
But in direct sunlight and under camera flash HD really glows! I think out of all the polishes in this collection, HD has the best scattered holographic effect.
This is three thin coats, just look at the wonderful colors emanating from this gem!
Final Thoughts:
I’m definitely happy that all of the polishes from the Milani 3D Holographic Collection are part of my stash now. If I had to pick favorites it would be HD, Digital and Hi-Tech with no questions asked, they had the best color payoff and the strongest holographic effects out of the six. 3D is also nice, though I like it more for the beautiful golden hue than I do for its holographic qualities.
Purchase Info:
You can purchase the 3D Holographic polishes by Milani on sale for $3.75/bottle at CherryCulture.com, or for $4.99/bottle at MilaniCosmetics.com or CVS stores nationwide.

Those are gorgeous! I have cyberspace, but I have to say that application is a pain, it’s pretty hard to apply and get it to look like it does in your pic.
I usually do a base coat of a solid color and then apply the holographic one on top because it just doesn’t look great on me otherwise :/ Love the pics though I wish I could get it to look like that!
