Nfu Oh 65 – The Blue Holo Queen
I honestly thought I would never get my hands on this polish without having to succumb to outrageous ebay prices, it was out of stock for such a long time! I finally had a stroke of good timing and it was in stock on the US distributors website and I snatched this beauty for myself. Nfu Oh 65 may not look like much in the bottle, but boy does it come to life on your nails! No more words, I’m just going to let the pictures speak for themselves.
Nfu Oh 65
Just look at that beautiful linear holographic prism! Like other linear holos, Nfu Oh 65 is not super prismatic under low/indoor lighting. But put this baby under flash or sunlight and you’ve just entered Holo City!
I initially had some application problems with this one. Nfu Oh strongly recommends using their Aqua Base Coat that is specifically made for their holographic line of nail polishes. Since it was sold out at the time I purchased Nfu Oh 65 I did not have access to it. I first attempted to use Essie Fill The Gap as my base and this made application a nightmare, I ended up with lots of bald patches and streaks. I had to wait several minutes between coats and even then it was hit or miss. On try number two I did not use a base coat and this made all the difference for me! The polish glided across my nails with ease and dried almost instantly. I ended up doing four thin coats in all, but with this method (no base) I could have probably stopped at three.
Since I was just swatching this one I did not use a top coat either, as I’ve heard that top coats tend to dull the effect of holographic polish. When I decide to wear Nfu Oh 65 as a full mani I will definitely use a top coat to extend the life of my manicure.
Application trial and error aside, Nfu Oh 65 is a spectacular holographic polish with one of the strongest prismatic effects that I have ever seen. I hope in time to get my hands on their entire holo collection, but they sell out fast and frequently so I will have to be diligent (aka: stalk their website) if I hope to meet this goal. Having this sucker as part of your stash will make you the envy of all your fellow lacquerheads.
Nfu Oh polishes can be purchased from FabulousStreet.com for $12.50/each and residents of the US receive free shipping.
