Ozotic 520 – aka The Perfect Fall Multi-Chrome (swatches/review)
Happy Saturday Everyone!!
I hope you all are having a great weekend so far! I’m going to see Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 with a few of my girlfriends today and I’m super pumped! I know, they’re not the greatest books and movies but they’re my guilty pleasure and I just can’t help myself (though I think Edward, Jacob, and Bella are all equally stupid at times… Team Jasper!! ). Plus I’ve heard that this one was the best of the series so far when it comes to the movies, I know that Breaking Dawn was my favorite of the four books. Anyone else checking out the movie this weekend? ^_^
I’m super excited to be showing you this polish today! I was approached by Katie from Harlow & Co. (She’s a Canadian e-tailer for all my girls over the northern border, check out their About page for more info! ) a week or so ago and she asked if I’d be interested in reviewing a few of her Ozotic polishes. She sent two of them to me and today we’re going to check out Ozotic 520 first. And boy is she a beauty! ♥
I used SH Nail Quencher Base Coat/Seche Vite Top Coat for all swatches shown today. Clicking on any of the images will enlarge them to the original size for you. Trust me, you’ll want to enlarge these photos.
Ozotic 520 is absolutely GORGEOUS. It’s goes from a glowing burgundy to a maroon, then to rust red with hints of bronze. And THEN it glides effortlessly into a orange-red-coppery-gold mix that is quintessentially autumn splashed across my nails. So basically I’m in love. ♥♥
These first three photos show Ozotic 520 in artificial lighting. I apologize for some of the goofy angles here, but sometimes it’s needed to show you all the different color variations to be discovered in multi-chromatic polishes! ^_^
Application was effortless. As with most duo/multi-chromatic polishes, this is a sheer polish that is best layered over another color. This is two coats layered over black.
Here are some shots with in-direct sunlight. The sun was disappearing behind the clouds by this time in my swatching session. I’m glad it did though because I got these gorgeous shots of the color shifting from warm red to a golden orange. This is my favorite color shift, it’s just beautiful.
Last, but certainly not least, here are some macro/close-up shots for you. I love the subtle shimmer in Ozotic 520. It’s like little specks of gold peeking through fallen leaves! ^_^
If you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m madly in love with Ozotic 520! With winter right around the corner it’s nice to hold on to every little piece of fall that I can, and looking at my nails when I have this polish on reminds me of my favorite season all over again. I also LOVE the new bottle shape for Ozotic. They used to be big, round, and slightly cumbersome. Plus with the new square shape I can fit more of them in my new Helmer!
Ozotics are a 3-Free and cruelty free brand from Australia. They can be a little pricey, even after becoming easier to procure through great e-tailers. But I certainly would not let that deter you from getting your hands on this beauty. Think of it as a special treasure in your polish collection. Plus the holiday season is just around the corner, perhaps it’s time to put some extra padding on your wishlists…
Ozotic 520 can be purchased through Harlow & Co. for $17.00 per .5 fl oz bottle of polish. They ship worldwide and offer free shipping on orders over $50. Harlow & Co. also offers other hard-to-find and/or international brands: Glitter Gal, Models Own, Nubar, piCture pOlish, POP beauty, Scotch Naturals (vegan & water based!), and Spa Therapy skin products. This was my first time interacting with the company. Katie was a peach to work with and my items shipped lightning fast from Canada to the US!
You can also purchase Ozotics from Llarowe, piCture pOlish (Australia based), and OverallBeauty.com. Prices vary and each site has their own shipping & handling charges so please check out their individual policies.
