Allo Everyone!

I’m squeezing this post in today to let you know about some great polishes that are being released today! I was contacted by Karine who asked if I wanted to review one of her new polishes from her Birthday Club Collection. Karine’s collection consists of 10 polishes that are inspired by each lady in her birthday club. Each polish is a jelly that’s filled with flakies and glitter!

I had the pleasure of reviewing Mine d’Or, a golden jelly polish filled with holographic glitter and multi-colored flakies. :-D Let’s move right onto the swatches, shall we?

Like I mentioned above, Mine d’Or is a sheer golden jelly that’s filled with all sorts of goodies! There’s holographic glitter and flakies, as well as shredded flakies that flash gold, blue and green. And I see little bits of red glitter in there too! It’s really quite beautiful. But it is also VERY sheer. What you see above is 4 coats and there’s still some pretty heavy VNL, which I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Mine d’Or is much better suited for layering, as you’ll see below. :-D

Here I layered 2 coats of Mine d’Or over 2 coats of A England’s Holy Grail. I love this combo! I think next time I’ll layer it over a dark polish to see if the flakies pop a little more. You can also see Mine d’Or layered over a green polish on my St. Patrick’s Day post, it’s on my right pointer finger. :-)

And some bottle shots. G’head and enlarge those pictures so you can get a better look at all the flakie and glittery goodness that’s going on inside of this bottle of polish. ;-)

Final Thoughts:

I really like the versatility of Mine d’Or! It really looks different depending on what polish I layer it with, and I’ve been having fun trying out new polish combinations. The formula is good, thin and it flows easily onto the nail with no grittiness like you get with some shard style flakie polishes.

I do want to mention that these polishes are NOT 3-Free, so that’s something you may want to keep in mind. The fumes weren’t too horrible, I still find Seche Vite top coat to be stronger scented than this polish. :-)

Purchase Info:

Karine’s Birthday Club Collection goes on sale today! The polishes are priced at $8.00 per bottle (not including shipping). You can find the order information [HERE] on Karine’s blog. You can also view more swatches of the other 9 polishes in this collection on her blog or her new Facebook Fan Page! :-D
