GOMM Collection

Morning Lovelies!

I’m really excited to be able to share this collection with you all today, the new Rescue Beauty Lounge GOMM Collection! When Ji told me that she was making her biggest collection yet of 7 polishes I think my jaw almost hit the floor. And when I finally had these babies in my hot little hands, I’m pretty sure I died for a few minutes. 6 cremes with hidden shimmer AND a jelly-creme hybrid? Mama like. :-D This collection has such a phenomenal range of hues and the inspiration behind it is truly wonderful.

I used Rescue Beauty Lounge Base Coat and Top Coat for all my swatches today. Clicking any image will bring you to the enlarged photo on my Flickr account. :-)

Edit: Had to make some adjustments to this post because a certain museum has decided to throw a tantrum. You can find more info [HERE].

Abi

Abi 1
Abi 2
Abi 3

Abi is a beautiful pea green creme with a subtle silver shimmer. I’m pretty sure I cooed at this one when I took it out of the box for the first time! It was a little streaky on the first coat but 2 coats was all it took to get this one to opacity.

Abi 4
Here’s a picture with flash (aka imitation sun because it was midnight when I was swatching :-P) so you can get a better look at the hidden shimmer. I’ll be doing this with all the subtle shimmer polishes in this review. :-)

And some bottle porn. Because it’s just fun. :-D

Bella

Bella 1
Bella 2

Bella is a slightly off-white milky jelly/creme hybrid with just a hint of beige. This one reminds me a lot of the gorgeous jellies in the OPI NYC Ballet Soft Shades Collection. While I did find this one to be level at 2 coats, it was a little too sheer for my tastes so what you see here is 3 coats of Bella. This polish is much more opaque at 3 coats than any of the OPI NYC Soft Shades polishes, where I still have visible VNL at 4 coats!

Bottle shot of Bella for you all. :-)

Faraway

Faraway 1
Faraway 2
Faraway 3

Faraway is a stunning sky blue with subtle light blue-green shimmer. I love this one! It’s such a cheery color and I can see myself wearing this one a lot. The formula on this one was thin but it was still opaque after 2 coats.

Faraway 4
Here’s your camera flash shot, just look at that shimmer! I can’t wait to out this one on my toes and head to the beach! :-D
Faraway Bottle Shot
And a gorgeous bottle shot of Faraway, just look at it!

Ghost

Ghost 1
Ghost 2
Ghost 3

OMG Y’all…. Ghost was such a surprise love for me. I can’t hardly explain it! I’m so not at ALL a brown polish lover usually, but this earthy copper metallic with golden-bronze shimmer is to die for. TO. DIE. FOR. 8O And all this magic happens with just 1 coat. ONE COAT! :-D I just…
Say it with me folks: *le sigh* ;-)
Ghost Bottle Shot
Your bottle shot of Ghost, this polish has my heart wrapped around it’s pretty copper penny fingers.

Jack

Jack 1
Jack 2
Jack 3

Jack is another lover of mine from this collection. This blackened teal beauty is full of a glowing-from-within blue shimmer. I used 2 coats here and the formula was like buttah! The formula on this one was thicker but manageable, and I almost had full coverage at one coat.

Check out the shimmer in this flash photo, simply stunning. :-D

And here’s your bottle shot. Bask in it. Love it. Embrace it. ^_^

Poppy

Poppy 1
Poppy 2
Poppy 3

Oh man… This was yet another love at first sight. Just look at that red! Poppy is a perfect bright poppy red with a beautiful orange/fuchsia duochromatic shimmer. I’ve never seen another polish quite like this one! Before I even swatched this collection for the blog I just HAD to have this polish on my toes immediately. I’ve been wearing for a week now and it’s so damn pretty!

But back to my fingers, the pigmentation on this is wonderful and the formula is superb! 2 easy coats and NO staining! :-D

Poppy 4
Here’s a shot with flash. You can get a better view of the dual shimmer in this shot and the bottle shot below.

Poppy Bottle Shot
Poppy is love in a bottle. I’ve been saying ‘love’ a lot in this post, I can’t help it! :-D

Santa Fe

Santa Fe 1
Santa Fe 2
Santa Fe 3

And last but certainly not least, we have Santa Fe. I saw this one and got so excited! You all know how much I love my orange polishes! Ocher is the perfect description for this polish, it’s a gorgeous burnt orange creme with a golden shimmer. And it’s such an unusual color to be seen in summer collections, but I’m happy it’s here because I adore it! This one also had a medium thick formula and while I used 2 coats here it was definitely almost a one-coater.

I had a little bit of trouble initially getting Santa Fe to level out but I just needed to wait longer for it to dry between coats. Once I decided to be patient with it I no longer had leveling issues. :-)
Santa Fe 4
Shot with camera flash, the color warms up in the “sun” to a golden orange. Simply takes my breath away. ♥
Santa Fe Bottle Shot
And a bottle shot of Santa Fe for you guys. I LOVE the shimmer in this one a lot. ^_^

Final Thoughts:

Wow. Ji has really done it again for me with this entire collection! The polishes are beautiful, the formulas are damn near flawless (which I would expect at the price point), and the inspiration behind them is literally a work of art! :-P As much as I love Bella, I’m not sure if it’s a must-have with this collection if you already own the OPI Soft Shades. With that said, I don’t believe that Bella Donna is a dupe for any of the OPIs and its formula is more opaque than any of the Soft Shades. Though I love them all, my stand-out favorites are Ghost, PoppySanta Fe and Abi. :-D
