Morning Everyone!

As I’m slowly becoming more and more engulfed by nail polish, I’ve realized that I have WAY too many polishes that I haven’t swatched yet. In order to help circumvent being featured on an episode of Hoarders I’ve decided to start “Spam-a-Thon Thursdays” so I can just swatch a crap-ton of polishes and share them all with you in a lump post. Because I care. And because my roommates and boyfriend are starting to give me “the look”. ;-)

Strangely enough we’re going to start with polishes that I actually don’t own, haha! I have quite a few NerdLacquers in my collection, but these bad boys I’m showing today were kindly lent to me by one of my besties (us quirky nerdfolk have to stick together). I am proud to say that I take total responsibility for turning my pal Amanda (not to be confused with the Amanda who creates NerdLacquer polishes) into a fellow lacquerhead, and every time I look at her now beautifully maintained cuticles a tear comes to my eye. :-P She has a TON of NerdLacquer polishes that she let me borrow so I could swatch them all for you guys, so thank you Amanda!! ^_^

I used Sally Hansen Nail Quencher base coat and Seche Vite top coat for today’s swatches.

Cold & Calculating

Cold & Calculating
Cold & Calculating
Cold & Calculating – a shimmery purple based polish that’s filed with silver and blurple hex glitter pieces in varying sizes. This is 2 coats.

Crunchy Frog

Crunchy Frog
Crunchy Frog
Crunchy Frog – this color is so strange, I love it! This is 3 coats, it built up nicely and wasn’t too gritty. I’ll use the Etsy description…

A revoltingly gorgeous milk chocolate shimmer base with emerald glitter, small and medium grass green hexagonal glitter, olive microglitter, and you might also notice some large chunks of silvery white.

Don’t Blink

Don't Blink
Don’t Blink – a light milky grey with white and black glitter. There’s large silver hex glitter in the bottle but it refused to come out and play when I painted my nails. This is 2 coats.

Event Horizon

Event Horizon
Event Horizon – LOVE AND NEED. This one was a favorite of mine. For one, Event Horizon is one of my all-time favorite movies. And two, this is such a dense gorgeous jelly! Blackened teal with multi colored glitter and holo glitter galore. This is 2 coats! I honestly didn’t want to give this one back to Amanda. ;-P

Exterminate

Exterminate
Exterminate
Exterminate – another favorite of mine. This polish was actually the one that started my NerdLacquer love. I stumbled upon it on her Etsy page and I KNEW I needed it. Even though I still don’t own it, lol. I did end up getting this one in a mini bottle for Amanda as part of her Christmas present last year since she’s a giant Dr. Who fan, and that’s when her NerdLacquer obsession began as well. WELCOME! ;-) This is 3 coats.

Oi, Spaceman series. A deep Dalekanium blackened-bronze brown with small black and gold glitter, large golden hex glitter, and small and medium light blue hex glitter.

I Think You Call Me… Sexy

I Think You Call Me… Sexy – this was another one I ended up really liking. A pretty cornflower blue jelly jam-packed with hex, iridescent, and multicolored glitter. This is 3 coats.

It’s Just A Flesh Wound – love the name for this one, I LOVE Monty Python & The Holy Grail. This one is a black jelly base filled with fine shimmer that’s complimented by red, white, and gold glitter.  2 coats.

Quasar

Quasar
Quasar – green jelly that’s filled to bursting with green, silver, holo, and hex glitters. 2 coats.

Regeneration

Regeneration
Regeneration – another mini, I gave up trying to hold the bottle for it. :-P Very sheer orange with giant golden hex glitter and smaller silver, orange and golden glitter pieces. This is 3 coats.

Hope you all enjoyed my spam post. I kinda feel like “I’m doing it wrong” and I was too wordy for my own spam-a-thon, but it’s hard not to be chatty when it comes to NerdLacquer! :-D

You can find NerdLacquer on Etsy, NinjaPolish, Harlow & Co., and Think Geek though I don’t believe anything is in stock at the moment.

UPDATE – 5/17/11

Amanda and her lovely NerdLacquers seem to have gone MIA for the time being. :-( I’ll keep my ears to the ground and update this and future NL posts if she resurfaces and starts selling polish again. Thank you to my readers for alerting me of this change in the comments on this post!
