OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection Swatches & Review!
I’ve a little late to the party with this one, but I’ve finally got swatches of the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection to share with you lovely people today! I wasn’t sure how I felt about this collection initially since I’m not normally a red or pink polish kind of girl, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this small collection of polishes.
Let’s get to the swatches. I used Models Own 3-In-1 basecoat/topcoat for most of my swatches shown today, changes are noted below.
If You Moust You Moust
OPI and their polish names, lol. Anyway, If You Moust You Moust (ಠ_ಠ) is your typical medium pink creme polish. It’s a bit thin and runny (as you can tell by the wobbly shape of my middle finger, didn’t wait long enough for it to dry between layers) so I needed 3 thin coats for this one to be opaque. It’s a pretty enough shade, but it doesn’t really do anything for me. And I wish I didn’t need 3 coats for it to work for me! I will say that If You Moust You Moust is SUPER glossy when it dries, even before you add top coat.
The Color Of Minnie
The Color Of Minnie is a pretty shimmery red polish that’s super pigmented. All I needed was 2 coats for this one. Be careful with removal though so you don’t end up with red fingertips and/or cuticles!
I’m All Ears
I’m All Ears is a gorgeous pink jelly that’s filled with purple/blue glass fleck shimmer. I love this one! It had a great consistency and I found myself only needing 2 coats to reach opacity. There was just a slight hint of VNL but it didn’t bother me.
The PolishAholic has done a great comparison with OPI I’m All Ears, China Glaze 108 Degrees and Butter London’s Disco Biscuit, you can check it out [HERE]!
Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It
Wow, Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It is such a fun polish! I hate the name, but this beauty is a fun glitter top coat that’s filled with orange and purple flecks and semi-translucent white heart glitter. For this look I layered 1 coat of Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It over 2 coats of I’m All Ears. This polish was a beast to apply. You’d think that with all the hearts in the bottle that at least one would wind up on the brush. That thought would be incorrect. I had to fish these suckers out onto the neck of the polish bottle or brush, then apply then with a dotting tool. Then I went back over each nail with the polish.
I added a coat of Gelous before my top coat with this manicure to get a smooth finish, but even with a coat of Gelous and a THICK coat of Seche Vite you can still feel some lumps and bumps. And the Seche Vite shrank the polish and made it look like I had tip wear before the day was over.
While not colors I would have normally reached for, I’m glad I have this collection because The Color Of Minnie, I’m All Ears and Nothin’ Mousie ‘Bout It was surprise hits for me! I’m not a huge fan of If You Moust You Moust but at least I now have a pink like this in my collection for…. Whatever situation arises where I’d need a pink like that.
