Review: Nicole by OPI Target Exclusives Fall 2012
Today I’ve got the Nicole by OPI Target Exclusives for Fall 2012 to share with you all, and these polishes are absolutely GORGEOUS!
I’m not even gonna do a huge intro here, let’s get straight to the pretties! I used Cult Nails Get It On and Wicked Fast as my base coat and top coat today.
Photos after the jump!
For Gold Times Sake
For Gold Times Sake is crazy! It’s a mix of tarnished gold, green, blue, and purple micro glitter that combined forms a polish like nothing I’ve seen before. I absolutely love it! Check out the macro shot in its original size. It doesn’t get much better than that. ♥
For Gold Times Sake was easy to apply, I had complete coverage at 3 coats.
Just Busta Mauve
So…. Remember when I said that it couldn’t get much better? I lied, because Just Busta Mauve is FABULOUS!! It’s the same concept as For Gold Times Sake, but this time with mauve/blue/yellow-orange/copper glitters. Once again, a breeze to apply and opaque at 3 coats.
If The Blue Fits…
OMGGGGGG!! Each color is getting better in this collection! If The Blue Fits… is a beautiful jewel-toned blue with purple and teal micro-glitter flecked in. 3 coats here. My roomie Brenda (aka The Crochet Queen) was giving this polish bedroom eyes. But honestly I was too.
Iris My Case
Iris My Case is a mauve/copper duochrome and I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I would. The duochrome effect is quite visible in all lighting and it was opaque at 2 coats. It’s a little brushstroke-y but not enough to bother me. ^_^
This one reminds me a lot of China Glaze’s No Plain Jane, but I don’t own that one so I can’t say they’re dupes for sure.
Mer-Maid For Each Other
Mer-Maid For Each Other initially looked like it’d be another Chanel Peridot dupe, but I’m happy to say that it is not! Where Peridot is a green/gold, Mer-Maid For Each Other is a green/blue duochrome. If anything I would guess that Missha’s HGR01 is a closer fit. I’ll try to put up a comparison post in the near future. ^_^
Mer-Maid For Each Other was sheer, but still reached opacity at 3 coats. Careful application with this one is needed, this one has the runniest formula of the bunch and it can be a little brushstroke prone.
While I still hate the shape of Nicole by OPI bottles, this collection was a surprise hit for me! I was totally expecting Mer-Maid For Each Other to be a Peridot dupe and I’m glad it isn’t. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this collection. All five polishes remind me of Fall, and I can certainly see myself wearing these as the days get colder.
