OPI Designer Series Fall 2012 Collection

Morning Everyone!

I’m back today with my last batch of OPI Fall 2012 swatches. This time we’ll be looking at the Designer Series polishes, DS Luxurious and DS Indulgence. I was excited about these two from the press release because ORANGE!!! :-P

OMG y’all, these two polishes are absolutely fabulous! I used Cult Nails Get It On and Wicked Fast base/top coat for my swatches today.

DS Indulgence

DS Indulgence 1
DS Indulgence 2
DS Indulgence 3
DS Indulgence is a berry red polish filled to the brim with golden shimmer. My skin tone really picks up the gold in this one and almost gives it a burnt copper hue! Application was an absolute dream and this is 2 easy coats.

DS Luxurious

DS Luxurious 1
DS Luxurious 2
DS Luxurious 3
OPI described DS Luxurious as being a coral-red in their press release. Um, no… DS Luxurious is a vibrant orange with golden shimmer and I effing LOVE it! :-D

Easy as pie (what does that even mean?) application with a great formula, shown here is 3 thin coats.

DS Luxurious reminds me of China Glaze’s Riveting from their Hunger Games collection. I don’t think they’re dupes but I’ll be adding it to my list for my upcoming comparison post!

Final Thoughts:

I absolutely LOVE both DS Luxurious and DS Indulgence. The polishes had great formulas, great color payoff and I love the golden shimmer! I can’t say that one if my favorite over another because I absolutely love them both! Perfect fall colors with a bit of punch. :-D

It’s my understanding that Designer Series polishes of yesteryear were filled with holographic shimmer and not golden shimmer. I don’t mind the change, but I don’t necessarily understand the price jump just because these are part of the Designer Series line. OPI justifies the price increase because Designer Series polishes have real diamond dust in them.
