Review: Kolt Dual Chrome Swatches and Review
7Morning Everyone!
I’m sorry for falling off the face of the polish earth. I’ve been around, just not around on the blog so much. I’m quite a few days behind on the 31 Day Challenge but I will work on getting caught up. Thanksgiving had me SUPER busy (if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you know how much I had to cook!), and afterward I’ve just been going through a blah phase I think. I actually hadn’t repainted my nails after Day 22, and my Gangnam style nails didn’t get removed until 2 days ago!
But anyway, I’m getting back into it because I’m WAY behind on things I need to show you guys. Today I’ve got a Brazilian brand that’s completely new to me, Kolt Dual Chromes! When I received these from Harlow & Co. I decided right away that I was going to layer them. I used A England Camelot (my faaaaaaaavorite black nail polish) as my base for each polish.
This post is SUPER picture heavy so I’m putting it behind a cut. I used 2 coats of each polish over one coat of black. I’ll go over application and formula in my final thoughts since it was similar for all 7 polishes.
31 Day Challenge: Day 22 – Inspired By A Song (Gangnam Style Nails)!
21Hey Everyone!
OOooooh man. This is hands down my favorite day of the 31 Day Challenge 2012 so far! Today’s theme for Day 22 is ‘Inspired By A Song’, and this was another day where I knew exactly what I wanted to do from the beginning of the challenge. There’s a million pictures so let’s just get straight to it!
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 22 – Inspired By A Song (Gangnam Style Nails)!
Hahahaaa! I am so so SO happy with how these turned out! I was first introduced to this song by the K-Pop artist Psy by my boyfriend back in the beginning of August. I laughed so friggin hard that I was in tears. This song is infections, and the accompanying music video is absolutely hilarious! I joked around for a while about doing Gangnam nails, so once I decided to do this challenge with Sam and Cris my day 22 nails were a no brainer.
If you somehow have been living under a rock and haven’t heard the song or seen the music video for Gangnam Style, I’ve included it at the bottom of this post. ![]()

The scene in the music video where Psy and the dancers are covered in white debris always cracks me up. So I’m happy that I was able to recreate that with mah nails. Excuse the awkward hang pose but it’s hard to get my thumb and pointer finger to cooperate.

I honestly don’t know which nail is my favorite. I love them all! Which one do you all like the best?

And here’s one last photo of my nails and a collage of the inspiration images I used from the music video on YouTube. ^_^
Finally, the music video that inspired my nails. Prepare for LOLs.

That’s it for day 22! I really don’t want to take these off. Sunday’s nails might be late you guys, haha!

31 Day Challenge 2012: Day 18 – Half Moon Nails!
3Hey Everyone!
I’m back again with Sam and Cris today for Day 18 of the 31 Day Challenge 2012! I wanted to do something a little different from your typical Half Moon mani, so I attempted Peter Pan Collar nails for the first time. BIG FLOP.
I was a bit rushed on these (trying to get them done before work) so I’m not entirely happy with how they turned out. Ah well, I can’t hit every ball out of the park, eh?
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 18 – Half Moon Nails

NAILED IT. I started with A England Camelot as my base polish. Then I used a white nail art polish for the shitty collars, and finished it off with the gold microbeads. I’d like to try this look again when I have more time to take my time and get it perfect. ^_^
☻
That’s it for today! I know these could have turned out a lot worse, but I’m bummed that I didn’t have something to really wow you guys today. There’s always Sunday!

31 Day Challenge 2012: Day 15 – Delicate Print!
4Hey Everyone!
I apologize for this post being WAY late, but this past weekend I got absolutely SWAMPED with work and I simply had no time to do my nails! I powered through Monday night to catch up to Sam and Cris and cranked out designs for Days 13-15 of the 31 Day Challenge 2012 that I’d missed last week. I’m posting them all for you today! ^_^
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 15 – Delicate Print

I used my all time favorite red, A England Perceval and layered A England Camelot over it with my Bundle Monster stamp BM-201. My boyfriend really loved how this one looked. ^_^
☻
That’s it for now! Next up is Day 16 later this morning!

31 Day Challenge 2012: Day 10 – Gradient Nails!!
9Morning!
Today is Day 10 of the 31 Day Challenge 2012, and the prompt is gradient nails! I ended up doing two looks today because I wasn’t completely satisfied with the first one. I’m gonna keep this short and sweet because I’m off to see Silent Hill Revelation in 3D with my boyfriend and my pal Sarah! I loooooove the games and I’m pretty curious to see how this second movie compares to the first movie and how closely it relates to the game it’s based on, Silent Hill 3.
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 10 – Gradient Nails!

I took my inspiration for both of these manicures from my Pinterest boards. Whoever pinned this one didn’t link it properly so I unfortunately don’t know where the original idea came from.
If anyone can point me to the creator of this mani, let me know!
I’m not super happy with my results on this one. The sponges I bought for my gradients were too squishy and not the same ones I’d bought last time. I think I still need to learn how to make them work best for me. -_-
Nail Polishes Used:
OPI Jade Is The New Black
A England Camelot

This second look comes from the amazing Madeline Poole! My attempt is nowhere near as gorgeous as hers but I tried! ^_^
Nail Polishes I Used:
Essie Penny Talk
OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips
A England Camelot
☻
Well that’s all she wrote for today everyone! Tomorrow we’re back with polka dot nails! Don’t forget to check out Sam and Cris’s blogs to see their Day 10 gradient nails too.

31 Day Challenge 2012: Day 7 – Black and White Nails!!
29Good Morning Everyone!
Sam, Cris and I are back again with Day 7 of the 31 Day Challenge 2012 with our black & white nails! I honestly had no clue what I was going to do for this prompt until the last possible minute. And even then I ended up doing it over again… And then doing something over my second attempt! What can I say, insomnia apparently breeds indecisiveness.
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 7 Black & White Nails – Dry Brush Flames!!

This was the one where my perfectionist issues came into place. I swear I did this mani over about 4 times before I was semi-happy with it. And even still I think it could have been better.
I used Neverland Nail Blog’s Dry Brush Nail Art Tutorial. I think I just need to do it more and experiment with colors because I like the end result, or at least how it looked on her blog.
Polishes I Used:
Milani White On The Spot
Rescue Beauty Lounge Stormy
A England Camelot
Then I decided that it wasn’t enough, that I wasn’t completely satisfied with it. So I decided to stamp over it with the reverse sequence of colors…
31 Day Challenge 2012 Day 7 Black & White Nails – Stamped Gradient

Ahhhhh, now that’s more like it! I love the swirlies in this stamp and the reverse gradient effect with the dry brush flame background! I was worried that it would look too busy but it works out somehow. I kinda want to see what it looks like mattified now!

I ended up using Milani White On The Spot and A England Camelot with the MASH-49 stamp. ^_^
☻
Well that’s it for today! I’m hoping that I’ll feel a bit more prepared and inspired for Day 8 on Tuesday!

31 Day Challenge 2012: Day 6 – Violet Nails!!
25Morning Everyone!
Sam, Cris and I are back again with Day 6 of the 31 Day Challenge 2012 with our violet nails! This is actually the manicure I wore for my birthday this past Sunday and I loved it soooo much! Less talkie, more polish…ie?
31 Day Challenge 2012 – Day 6 Violet ‘Equalizer’ Nails!!

How effin’ amazing are these, right?! Hahaha, I don’t mean to toot my own horn here but I am SOOOO thrilled with how these turned out! Did I mention that already?
I first saw this manicure done by @imichelley on Instagram. Her IG is private but somehow I was still able to pin the link to her mani to my Pinterest board so you can see it [HERE] (yay technology!).
I started off with 1 coat of Rescue Beauty Lounge 360, a gorgeous aqua teal blue with a subtle silver shimmer. Then I carefully added 1 coat of Rescue Beauty Lounge Mismas (a deep purple creme) over half of each nail, because I didn’t feel like effing around with tape that day.
After both of those polishes had a little time to dry, I added short frenetic black lines down the center of each nail in varying lengths with a black nail art pen. Then I went back over the black area with my Sinful Colors Time Off polish (it’s the fine-tipped nail art polish version of their Black on Black). I think it looks like an equalizer bar on a sound system, hence my nickname for the manicure. ^_^
I loved how it looked plain, but I realllly had been wanting to play with my Enchanted Polish Secret Sauce so I added that too before I finished everything off with top coat. Secret Sauce changes its appearance depending on what its layered over and it has multi-chromatic shimmer. I love it! You can’t see it on my nails here, but depending on the lighting the shimmer went from red, to golden, to green! ![]()

And here’s a photo of my mani before I added Secret Sauce and my top coat. Still gorgeous on its own but damn it, I wanted some ~*~sparkle~*~ for my birthday.
☻
So what do you all think of this bad-ass mani?! I certainly love it and I want to do Equalizer nails with ALLLL the colors now!
For those with grabby hands: RBL 360 and Mismas can be purchased at rescuebeauty.com, and Enchanted Polish is available through Llarowe or Harlow & Co (though it’s currently sold out on both sites). ^_^

NOTD: My Halloween Nails For Bundle Monster Fright Night!
30Happy Friday Everyone!
October is my favorite month of the year for several reasons:
1 – It’s Fall, and Fall is my favorite time of the year! I love the cooler weather and the excuse to pull out all of my chunky sweaters and boots.
2 – My birthday is this month, so I might be slightly biased about this being the best month out of the year.
3 – I love that all the tv and movie channels start playing scary movie marathons! I’m a HUGE horror movie fan.
4 – Seven of my favorite tv shows started this month! My DVR is set to record American Horror Story, 30 Rock, The League, Always Sunny In Philadelphia, The Walking Dead, Supernatural, and Dexter!
5 – Last, but not least… HALLOWEEEEEN!! I always go all out with my costume for Halloween each year because it is seriously my favorite holiday. The year I went as Marie Antoinette I won a costume contest! This year my boyfriend and I are going as Finn the Human and Princess Bubblegum from Adventure time. I cannot wait!
Not to mention, I love playing with Fall and Halloween themes with nail art. ^_^ This year I worked up enough courage to submit an entry for Bundle Monster’s Fright Night Halloween Nail Art Contest. Open voting begins tomorrow and I’m so nervous! I’m sure there are going to be a TON of amazing entries but at least I can say I tried, right?
EDIT: Voting is open now!! Click [HERE] to be brought to the app to vote for my entry!
NOTD: Halloween Nails – Nails and Noms Tricky Treats!

Okay, so the name for this set of nails is kinda lame but you try thinking of something clever while you’re in the middle of a 53 hour work week!
I think the name fits though since this is more on the side of fun spooky and less scary spooky. Plus the gradient background is meant to resemble candy corn! ![]()

I started off with a white base using Milani White On The Spot, which may be my new favorite white nail polish and I need ALL the backups!
Then I used Dermelect Head Turner, White On The Spot and Catrice Sunny Side for my candy corn gradient. For my ring finger I used A England Camelot and layered Enchanted Polish Pumpkin Gutz over it. Loooooooove Pumpkin Gutz so much! I need more of her Halloween glitters.
For my stamping I used Bundle Monster plates BM-223, BM-224, and BM-225 and these nail polishes:
- Rescue Beauty Lounge Fortissimo
- Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle
- OPI A Roll In The Hague
- Wet n Wild Black Creme
- Milani White On The Spot
- A England Avalon

Here’s some close-up shots of each finger for ya! Le thumb.

Pointer finger.

Middle finger.

Ring finger. I got a little overzealous with my topcoat on this finger and it rippled a little in the corner as it was drying. ![]()

And my pinky. I used glitter from Enchanted Polish Pumpkin Gutz for the eyes.
☻
So what do you all think? Do I have a snowball’s chance in hell of placing for this contest?
I honestly can’t wait to see what everyone else has done for the contest! You can begin voting for your favorites starting on Saturday, October 13th at the Bundle Monster Facebook Page.
EDIT: Voting is open now!! Click [HERE] to be brought to the app to vote for my entry!
