KKCenterhk Nail Foil Stickers – (swatches & review)

Hey Guys!

I was contacted once upon a time by KKCenterhk asking if I wanted to review one of their products. I ended up choosing one of their nail patch designs, No. W033 – a swirling rainbowish metallic pattern. ^_^

KKCenterhk Nail Patches – No. W033

KKCenterhk - Nail Patch No.W033
They took a little while to arrive, which I expected since they came from overseas. The packaging is great! They come in this really cool looking flat packing envelope with holographic lettering. :-D

The instructions on the back are very straight forward. If you click the first picture in this sequence you’ll see the full instructions enlarged. This was my first attempt at applying stick-on nail decals so I was excited to see how they turned out! :-D

That was also the day that I learned I am not at ALL good with applying nail decals. :-P They looked FANTASTIC on the sheet but man… Applying these things is harder than it looks, at least for me it was. My application turned into a rippled, rough edged mess. :-(

The sheets themselves were way too big for my bitty fingers so I had to cut them down to size quite a bit. I think this product would be better suited for someone with wider nails.

This is honestly the only picture I took of the manicure that make it look even somewhat decent. I see other people using stick-on decals like this all the time and their manis look fabulous! It must just take practice and patience that I lacked today, lol! My ring finger turned out the best, but the other nails (especially my pinky) were so rippled around the sides. I’m thinking that I didn’t trim off the sides enough to prevent the rippled effect. :?

Final Thoughts:

I really wanted this product to work for me because KKCenterhk has some really great designs for their nail patches! I don’t want to give up just yet because again this was my first attempt, I’m hoping that if I purchase nail patches in the future I’ll get better results.

I can say that removal was fairly easy. :-P I just used soap and water and a little elbow grease and they came off pretty easily. There was a little sticky residue left after removal from the adhesive but it came off quickly with a cuticle stick.

If you want to see an example of how these look when they’re applied like a boss, check out Bregje’s post [HERE] at Oooh, Shinies! :-)

Purchase Info:

Nail foil patches can be purchased from KKCenterhk for $5.48 USD and they have an astronomical amount of designs to choose from. Honestly, that site has a cornucopia of beauty supplies to browse through, above and beyond nail art supplies. ^_^

KKCenterhk is also running a ‘Every Day Giveaway’ on their site, you can find out more about it [HERE].

31 Day Challenge: Day 31 (Re-Create Your Fave Challenge)

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I can’t believe this is the last day of the 31 Day Challenge!! It’s gone by so fast, and it’s been amazing sharing this experience with two bloggers I’ve admired even before I had my own blog! It’s been great having Cris and Sammy to run ideas by, share frustrations with, and shoot endless tweets to my heart’s content. This challenge forced me to push my boundaries and gave me a new love and appreciation for nail art! I loved it before, but I love it even more now that I know I’m not horrible at it. ;-) So I’ll pretty much cherish this fo-evah! :-D If you missed any of the previous days, I have them all tucked away [HERE] for you to view them at a glance. ^_^

For the last day we wanted to do something extra special. Our challenge for Day 31 was to re-create our favorite challenge. So we each picked out a mani from the other two girls that we loved and did our best to recreate the looks. ^_^

Sammy did this kick-ass mani for her Day 25: Inspired By Fashion look. She took the inspiration from the Studded Sheath Dress by Michael Kors. As soon as I saw this on her nails I was in love and I knew I had to recreate it for today’s challenge :-D. It reminds me of sexy studded black boots or a slick leather belt. ♥

I marched my butt down to the local Michael’s Arts & Crafts store and managed to find the little gold studs/bullion (in the scrapbooking section), brought ‘em home and went to work. I used Wet n Wild’s Black Creme as my base. Sam also wrote a great FAQ that helped me out a lot when I recreated this manicure.

I really REALLY love this manicure. I didn’t wear mine for the whole day since I still had another mani to create, but I’ll definitely be sporting this edgy design in the future. Thanks Sam for this awesome idea! ♥♥

How cool is this?! Cris did this beautiful gradient manicure for her Day 13: Animal Print nail challenge. I love the vibrant colors and the hint of holographic sparkle. I wish I owned a pair of the awesome technicolor flip-flops in her post, those things are awesome! Is anyone else reminded of Lisa Frank from back in the day? :-D

I didn’t have the exact same polishes that Cris used but I did my best trying to keep things in the same color family. I used a LOT of different colors for this manicure and I spaced out when it came to writing them down. :-P Since I don’t have INM Northern Lights Hologram top coat I ended up using China Glaze’s Wireless Holographic top coat instead, so the holo shimmer is finer in my mani. I also NEED the m78 plate in my life! I used my m57 plate for this manicure.

Macro shots of my two favorite color transitions. You’re gonna want to enlarge these two. Actually, backtrack to the first picture of the studded mani and enlarge all these photos ’cause they’re all splendiferous. :-D

And there you have it, the end of the 31 Day Challenge! It’s going to take me some time to get used to regular swatching and reviews now that I’m done, hah! I want to thank everyone that watched me go through this from Day 1, and anyone that joined in midway to watch my progress as well. This has been a blast and I hope it inspires some of you to start your own 31 Day Challenge in the future! ♥
